Money Review....

Many students need a review for counting coins & bills plus how to add & subtract money in story problems using simple addition/subtraction problems. So here is a video to re-teach this skill many kids are still struggling with. Please continue to work on this skill with your child at home as it was a 2nd grade skill. Thanks!

Vocabulary Words
The students weekly 10 Vocabulary words are sent home on index cards to study for the week. The test is on the last day of the week.

Math

We just started beginning multiplication last week. Students are close to mastering their multiples of 0’s & 1’s!! They are also learning about fact families and how multiplication & division go hand-in-hand! We will continue to skip count and work on multiples of 2’s, 3’s and 4’s and beyond when they’re ready. Please work with your children at home on their math facts as this will help so much at school!

Language Arts/Writing
In writing we have been working on writing paragraphs that stick to the main idea, using graphic organizers in our pre-writes and remembering to start our sentences with capital letters. We have created rubrics to help write and evaluate our work. We are also learning about possessive nouns.
Reading
In Reading we have been working on close reading and finding the gist/main idea in our stories. We answer questions on our SIWBS form. We are reading many non-fiction stories and finding specific details and vocabulary in our stories.
